Well, it has certainly been a very cold month here and across many countries - so what can we offer to numb the cold!

And as if the cold wasn’t enough to worry about - what if you have a small baby too?  So, if you are planning a trip with your young baby but aren’t sure if you could cope, then take a look at Emily’s short introduction on Traveling With a Baby, and see if you feel better about travel after reading it.

Next we have some light-hearted list of ideas to fill those short vacations, staycations, bank holidays, weekends and every other afternoon if you and your family are bored! So here’s Emily Moser with her list of 100 Painless Resolutions for a Healthier, Happier, Fitter New Year!

And if you want an unhealthy money-wasting but possibly fun day out - then have a look at Carl’s article discussing World’s Largest Entertainment McDonald’s and PlayPlace! wit some great pictures!

Maybe after a complete spring clean and de-junk you are looking to have a yard sale or a car-boot sale to boost funds and entertain the kids for the day - so take a look at some tips for getting out there for the day with Top Tips For Your Car Boot Sale.

And finally, an article filled with things kids do that make us laugh - although the first picture isn’t suitable for kids to look at really!  So, have a look at what witty jester has to offer in Kids Will Be Kids - I bet you read them all like I just did!

Enjoy……

Welcome indeed to 2010 - and I hope you have made lots of travel plans already for the year ahead.

I have a friend setting off for a 6 month trip around South America with a group of his friends, another who is planning to cycle from London to Paris for charity and yet another hoping to drive across Mongolia towards the end of fall.

I have many ideas too, but first lets see what our contributors this month have to offer.

Lets start up with a short one about taking your kids skiing - and lets be honest, there isn’t really a shortage of snow at the moment!  So, Skier lets us in on 5 Tips to Take Your Child Skiing.

The next 2 are really arty and rather personal articles about how you can give your child (and yourself) something that you can treasure forever.  First off Dan gives s some great advice and tips on creating your very own home movie compilation of your baby’s first holiday with his article: A Truly Priceless Gift for Your Child – DIY 1st Year Baby Video.  Obviously you can use any footage you want - and it doesn’t have to be the 1st year only.  You could set about making one every year for your kids as they are so simple to make.

Then we hop over to Gloria Daniels, who gives some great ideas for putting together a more decorative scrapbook of your kids vacations.  This way you can include entry tickets, snap shots and postcards of the trip in a way you can’t do on video.  So take a look at her article: Creating a Kid’s Travel Journal and see which you prefer.

Or instead of taking the kids yourself - let them head of alone! Marjorie Morgan tells an amazing tale of a young girl Jessica Watson - solo sailor on her lone sailing voyage.  Take a look at what she has achieved at such a young age.

See you next month!

Welcome to this final Blog Carnival for 2009!

We have a few tips, followed by some inspiring learning and then a fun tale of animal antics!

So, lets start with Debbie Dragon who gives us her take on the top Tips for Car Travel With Children followed by a quick run-down from Winter who has 5 Tips to Take Your Child Skiing.

Pamela Jorrick is teaching her kids from home, giving her the chance to explore some of those great places that schools just don’t go: A Quick Few Days in Monterey, followed by Carmen Bolanos who shares a tale of travel with us with one part of her articles and interviews with Nomading Families Talk About Life and Education | NuNomad Blog.  A great read!

And finally, Katie lets us in on the comings and goings of her family day out - with some great tips and some lovely snaps with her OC Mom’s Activity Guide: The San Diego Zoo!

See you in the new year!

Welcome to this Fall’s Traveling with Kids Carnival!

The weather out there is perfect for some great days out with the kids! Get those wellies on and your woolly hat and go see some great colors in the trees out there. Find fallen seeds, busy squirrels and plenty of leaves to throw about!

I must admit it has been a bit wet around here, but then more puddles to squelch in and more mini-beast to find in the undergrowth!

And I hope the kids all had a great Halloween last week, with fireworks to come for November the 5th if you are in the UK!

Anyway, lets see what we have in the form of ideas for days out and great vacations this month:

Phil Byrne starts the show with a day out in the UK for free: Top Ten Free Things To Do In Bristol, however if you are somewhere a lot warmer, how about 14 Juvenile Things to do with an Underwater Camera suggested by Katie Erica!

Staying silly - what’s wrong with doing all the obvious things when you arrive in a new city? Katie takes you through 12 Tacky but Terrific Things to do in London accompanied by a photo for every one! Exactly the same things from Lydie Thomas, but a different city: Top 10 fun things to do in Paris with your kids

Now take on some advice from a regular with OCMomActivities article about tips for you if you plan to visit Sea World - San Diego, CA. Great snaps too! Also a short story about a museum in Atlanta from a regular blogger, Amy @ The Q Family: Imagine It! Children Museum with Kids

And finally, Booby offers up a Top 10 US cities to visit if you are looking to keep it cheap! So, Top 10 cities to visit on a Budget is here!

See you in December……

I’ve just got back from a great vacation in Malta in the Mediterranean - and it was hot, hot, hot.  There were certainly a lot of families around there, all enjoying the sunshine and that fact that this island is so small that there seems to be a beach almost everywhere you go!

I have made only a small collection of articles from this months choices as I haven’t been back long and the Internet out there wasn’t so good - hence this post being a day late!

So, lets start with just a lovely story from Kizie about Sharm El Sheikh as this was the other destination I was interested in - but the weather turned sour! I have been there before though - and would recommend it myself. Great post with lots of info.

Next, lets hop to someone else on vacation - with Jennifer Miner from Traveling Mamas talking about her great trip on the Nickelodeon Family Cruise Trips from Los Angeles. Some great snaps too.

Then we nip over to Renee Rouse who has a great idea for planning for those ‘last minute’ day trips. Rather than decide to go out and then spend an hour or 2 fussing over everything - just take a look at some of Renee’s ideas and put your own spin on it! Frugal Tip - Summer Fun Bags

And finally a short photo post about the best points of hiring or buying an RV with young kids by Jenafer with Living La Vida Loca in the RV.

See you next time with a bigger offering…..
